On Tuesday night, Skanska USA celebrated the launch of its new Southwest Chapter of the Skanska Women’s Network (SWN). Set in the Energy Corridor’s West Memorial Place, the event featured a panel discussion entitled “Find Your Why”, which included a number of Skanska’s top executives as they discussed their career journey:

• Paul Hewins, co-chief operating officer at Skanska USA Building Inc. and national executive sponsor for SWN
• Ivette Vanas, senior vice president, Risk Management at Skanska USA
• Katie Coulson, project executive at Skanska USA

Moderated by David Schmidt, co-chief operating officer, the panel allowed executives to share valuable insights with colleagues from across the country, including advice on career growth and leadership opportunities. Those in attendance also took advantage of the Q&A period, which addressed challenges like maintaining a positive work/life balance, identifying key opportunities for growth and development and overcoming gender stereotypes in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
