UHY LLP (UHY), one of the nation’s leading accounting and professional services firms, announces that William Schmitt, CPA has joined the team as Principal working out of UHY’s Houston Office.

Schmitt is an audit professional with over ten years of progressive experience. He has extensive experience with public and private companies, partnerships, multinational companies, as well as complex transactions, including debt modifications & troubled debt restructurings, share-based compensation, business combinations, fresh-start & reorganizations, and impairment.

Schmitt joins several other leaders as UHY expands its Houston practice to a full-service office late last year providing tax, assurance and consulting services.

Building upon the firm’s long-standing reputation in Texas, UHY opened a Houston office in 2017 serving primarily as an information technology and consulting practice. Over the past three years, UHY Houston has grown significantly, attracting not only clients, but talent to the firm.

UHY Houston is led by Schmitt and three other leaders, each with complementary skill sets—Matt Martina, Managing Director of International Tax Services; Todd Sutherland, Director of Research and Development Tax Credits; and Norman Comstock, Managing Director of Consulting. UHY plans to continue to hire in Houston in line with the office’s growth.
