Reid Wilson
Reid Wilson, Chairman and founder of the Wilson Cribbs + Goren law firm, has been elected as the chair of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law(REPTL) Section of the State Bar of Texas for 2020–2021. Wilson previously served as treasurer and chair-elect/secretary,each for a one-year term.
The REPTLSection (originally known as the State Bar Committee on Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law) was created in 1939 and is the second-oldest section of the State Bar of Texas. Itis composed of lawyers (as well as law students) who practice or have an interest in the fields of real estate, probate or trust law, and is the largest section of the state bar, with more than9,200 members.
The section is led by agoverning council, consisting of 16 members elected for staggered terms of four years each who work with the section’s officers: the chair, treasurer, chair-elect/secretary and immediate past chair. The position of chair is held alternately from year to year by a real estate lawyer and a probate and trust lawyer.
Wilson is recognized as a preeminent land use attorney in southeast Texas. He is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) and one of only three practicing Texas real estate attorney members holding the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) designation. Board-certified in commercial real estate law since 1986, he brings to his practice solidrelationships and a reputation with governmental lawyers and officials throughout southeast Texas.
