Virtual Doorman®, a New York-based provider of remote doorman and security services, is expanding its services to the Texas region in an effort to provide much-needed security and safety to customers and their buildings’ staff throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Matthew Barnes has joined the company as Business Development Associate and will be responsible for sales and business development, especially as demand for Virtual Doorman’s services continue to rapidly grow. Barnes will also work on implementing the company’s emergency plan during the pandemic.

“We are thrilled to welcome Matt to the Virtual Doorman family,” said Colin Foster, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Virtual Doorman. “We are confident he will be a fantastic addition to a team that goes above and beyond in providing additional comfort and relief to clients, especially during these trying times. Although our software is known for being best-in-class, we believe what sets us apart is not our technology alone, but the people behind it.”

Barnes joins Virtual Doorman after working for a Houston-based business intelligence company as an intelligence analyst. Prior to his most recent position, he was an Associate at Purple Land Management in Houston, responsible for contract research and procuring leases in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Colorado, Oklahoma, North Dakota, and Kansas. Matt’s experience also includes working in lease administration and technical services at Silver Oak Energy.

Virtual Doorman systems combine technology and real people to serve the residents of multi-tenant buildings across the U.S., remotely providing secure, no-contact access to buildings and apartments for residents, deliveries, visitors, and service calls. The company is reaching out to its existing customer base to offer upgraded services and expanded hours, free of charge to help cover shifts for on-site building staff.

“We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and want to make sure each and every one of the thousands of customers we serve aresafe and protected during this time,” added Foster. “Many Virtual Doorman customers have found a ‘silver lining’ because they were uniquely prepared to handle the current situation. Social distancing is not easy for buildings with traditional doormen and onsite staff. Buildings which already had our technology in place have been able to continue to provide critical services such as covering shifts, so doormen and supers can stay safely at home.”

Matthew Barnes resides in Houston and is a native of Fort Worth. He attended Texas Christian University where his studies focused on Geology, Energy Technology and Business Management.

Virtual Doorman’s personalized service uses integrated digital CCTV, cameras, video intercoms, access control devices, and remote operators at its Command Center. The company’s services include building security; providing secure access for residents, deliveries, and guests; as well as virtual concierge services.

The company has been developing and perfecting its suite of remote doorman services since it was founded twenty years ago. For a complete list of Virtual Doorman services and features, please visit https://virtualdoorman.com.
