Smart Way to Better Mental Health: New Platform Widely Available for Providers

3/20/20

SmartCounseling, a TechFW client, has introduced a white-labeled platform -- Smart Practice Virtual Suite -- available for mental healthcare professionals to quickly expand their services online and offer their clients mental health therapy through messaging, audio and video anytime, anywhere.

SmartCounseling, based in Southlake, TX., offers AI-based technology, self-guided learning and top-quality, trained coaches and clinicians to expand the accessibility of behavioral health services to those people who need it most.

The SmartCounseling platform is a flexible, technology and services solution that allows therapists to expand their practice to online services and/or take on clients as independent contractors on the SmartCounseling platform. In addition, organizations can provide branded behavioral health services and use the SmartCounseling clinicians, their own or both.

SmartCounseling.com is completely private and confidential. According to a 2019 study published in the Journal of Technology in Behavioral Science, online therapy consistently has achieved equal or better outcomes for those challenged with anxiety, stress and depression in the workplace and at home.

Insurance coverage for telehealth is developing in stages. In light of the coronavirus pandemic,

SmartCounseling.com is seeking to reduce the cost burden and will provide 40% off its counseling services through June 12 for those in need of mental health care. The code for individuals is CALM40.

Therapists who want to offer online services to their current in-office clients can do so with a 90-day free trial of the Smart Practice Virtual Suite. To get started, contact co-founder Catherine Tito at ctito@smartcounseling.com.

SmartCounseling emerged from a personal experience of Catherine Tito, a licensed professional counselor.?Growing up with a parent who lived with mental health challenges originating in part from a difficult workplace environment, Catherine experienced the immediate and lasting impact on her family.

In her own practice, she encountered a new set of challenges. Many individuals who could have benefited from counseling were unable to see a counselor in person, either because there were few counselors available or because they could not fit counseling sessions into their busy work and family schedules. So, they continued to suffer. On the other side of the coin, counselors found constraints on the number of clients they could see and the amount of income they could generate. The growing demand for targeted behavioral health services could not be met by the current number of professionals available, and the in-office model is inconvenient, lacks confidentiality and is expensive.

SmartCounseling.com is one of five 2020 awardees of DigitalNow’s 20th annual Tech Showcase Awards and will be presenting at the to-be-rescheduled DigitalNow 2020 conference during 2020.
