Katie Harrington

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Katie Harrington, an attorney in the firm’s Houston office, has been appointed to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s LGBTQ Advisory Board, which serves as a liaison between the mayor and the city’s LGBTQIA+ community. Ms. Harrington began serving a two-year term in January.

The purpose of the advisory board is to provide recommendations on policies that will end discrimination and advance the social, economic and political issues that impact the city of Houston to improve the quality of life for the LGBTQIA+ community. The community’s individuals represent identities from across the LGBTQIA spectrum, including members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, transgender, intersex, and straight ally communities. Mayor Turner formed the board following the tragic massacre of 49 LGBTQIA+ individuals, disproportionately people of color, in June 2016 in Orlando.

Ms. Harrington focuses her practice on commercial and energy litigation. She represents clients involved in complex business litigation disputes and appellate matters, primarily in the energy, oil and gas, and oilfield services industries. She also counsels clients on general business matters to help them minimize risk and avoid litigation.
