The American Society of Pharmacovigilance officially announced the members of their Scientific Advisory Board today. These individuals will play a pivotal role in advising on the direction of the organization and expanding its reach and mission. The Society aims to bring leaders in healthcare together to push the envelope in creating awareness and develop new ways of thinking to improve patient safety.

As part of their initiatives, the Society is creating an open access journal in pharmacovigilance to promote research and innovation in the area, developing an adverse drug event report to showcase the state of adverse drug events in the US, and building a platform for healthcare professionals to work together to address the fourth leading cause of death in the country.
