Exelon's Annova LNG Export Plant Passes First FERC Environmental Test

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issues a draft environmental impact statement for Exelon's (NYSE:EXC) proposed $3B Annova liquefied natural gas export terminal in Brownsville, Tex., bringing the project closer to receiving federal approval for construction.

FERC staff concludes construction and operation of the project - which is designed to produce 800M cf/day of natural gas - would result in some adverse environmental impacts, but those impacts “would not be significant” if the company follows recommendations in the draft report.

FERC is expected to draft a final environmental impact statement for release in April 2019 and decide whether the proposed project will receive a permit in July 2019.
