
In my last article on General Electric (NYSE:GE), I argued that investors may want to buy quality companies in an environment that was marked by low interest rates and an unclear employment picture (a.k.a. uncertainty). As a matter of fact, I recommended investors to buy General Electric because the company is completing its asset sales program, and it was returning a lot of cash to shareholders.
I also mentioned the possibility of a rate hike, which I would expect will help cyclical risk assets like General Electric or Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) more than it will hurt them. I had this to say about General Electric:
