Mercantil Commercebank continues to strengthen its presence in Houston with the opening of its seventh banking center in Sugar Land, located at 300 Highway 6.
Houston Banking Centers hosted Grand Opening events with Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting
On May 25 and 26, Mercantil Commercebank, one of the largest banks headquartered Florida with $8.0 billion in assets, celebrated its Houston presence with grand opening events for the Champions and Sugar Land banking centers. With the two new openings, the Bank now has a total of seven banking centers throughout the Houston community.
To help inaugurate the banking centers, Alberto Peraza, President and COO of Mercantil Commercebank; Miguel Palacios, Domestic Personal and Commercial Banking Manager; Francisco Rivero, Executive Vice President and Regional Manager of Mercantil Commercebank’s Texas Market; Nancy Blackwell, Chairman of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce; and Dr. Brian Machart, Immediate past Chairman of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, all spoke briefly about the financial institution’s growth in the city of Houston.

The new Champions banking center is located at 10143 Louetta Road. The center is being headed by Vice President, Branch Sales and Service Manager Al Perales, who brings more than 12 years of industry experience. The Sugar Land banking center is located at 330 Highway 6. The facility is lead by Vice President, Branch Sales and Service Manager Alan Bagwell, who brings more than 22 years of industry experience.
Both new facilities offer personal and business banking customers’ products and services designed to meet their financial needs. The branches will also provide customers with drive-thru lanes, night depository services and convenient parking.
