Colliers International is pleased to announce that husband and wife duo of Rishi Hospitality, has leased 3,251 square feet of restaurant space at M-K-T, an upcoming 200,000 SF mixed-use project in the Heights, located at 600 North Shepherd in Houston, Texas 77007.

Rishi Hospitality plans to open da Gama canteen, a new Euro-Indian influenced café and bar. The concept is inspired by the spice route forged by the famous Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama. The scene will be modern and fresh with Indian art and design elements. The restaurant plans to offer a natural blend of Euro-Indian cuisine with a café by day and wine & cocktail bar by night. da Gama is expected to open in the fall of 2020.

Rishi Hospitality is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Chef’s Rick and Shiva Di Virgilio. The couple currently owns OPORTO Fooding House and Wine in Midtown. da Gama, their newest concept will be the evolution of The Queen Vic pub & kitchen and Oporto Café on Richmond Avenue, which they recently closed. The couple is very excited about establishing in their new community of the Houston Heights where they now reside.

M-K-T is being co-developed by Radom Capital and Triten Real Estate Partners. Brittney Freed and Linda Rubiola, of SHOP Companies, represented the developers. Hannah Tosch of Colliers International represented Rishi Hospitality in the transaction.
