Hogan Lovells has won a coveted spot in the Points of Light Civic 50, an annual list recognizing the most community-minded firms in the U.S. It is the first time Hogan Lovells has been awarded a place on the list, and it is the only law firm honored for its work this year.

The firm is also proud to have won specific recognition as the first honoree in Points of Light’s Leadership in Volunteerism award. This new award will be given to the Civic 50 honoree that made the most exceptional organizational commitment and investment in employee volunteering.

Civic 50 honorees are drawn from public and private companies with U.S. operations and revenues of more than $1 billion, and are selected based on four criteria: investment; integration; institutionalization; and impact. The award seeks to create a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies use their time, skills and other resources to improve the communities in which they do business.

Over the past year, Hogan Lovells has increased its commitment to Citizenship and made significant contributions to local communities. In 2017, Hogan Lovells’ people dedicated more than 247,000 hours to Citizenship, an increase of approximately 15 percent on 2016. Their work included significant monetary and volunteer contributions following natural disasters in Mexico City, Miami, and Houston.

Points of Light is the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. It was formed (and named) after George H.W. Bush’s “thousand points of light” vision in his inaugural speech. Hogan Lovells will be recognized along with other members of the Civic 50 at Service Unites, the Points of Light annual conference and gala, this evening.
