Andrews Kurth Kenyon is pleased to announce that Houston partner Tammy Brennig has been selected by The Center for Houston’s Future to participate in the Fall 2017 Class of the highly-regarded Business/Civic Leadership Forum (The Forum).
The Forum engages about 35 distinguished business and civic leaders regarding the strategic issues facing the Houston region. Forum participants come from Houston and the surrounding region, and are entrepreneurs, representatives from large and small companies and nonprofits, ethnically diverse, and industry diversified. Since 2000, nearly 1,000 leaders in Houston have participated in the Forum, tackling social issues and economic challenges, and identifying opportunities to bridge their points of view which are as diverse as Houston itself. The results of the Forum have created numerous community projects involving civic entrepreneurs working to build a better region.
The mission of The Center for Houston’s Future is to address matters of highest importance to the long-term future of the greater Houston area by engaging diverse leaders, providing impactful research, and defining actionable strategies. The organization brings business and community together to innovate for the future, and is devoted to thinking and acting strategically for the long-term future of the Houston nine-county region.
Ms. Brennig is a highly-regarded, long-time corporate finance partner. She has an extensive practice that includes representation of financial institutions, institutional investors and corporate borrowers in all types of secured and unsecured financing transactions, including acquisition financings, asset based lending, reserve based lending, master limited partnership financing, multi-currency credit facilities, floor plan financing, first lien/second lien transactions and debt restructuring. Tammy routinely represents large commercial banks in connection with syndicated credit facilities to both public and private borrowers in a broad range of industries. She also has extensive experience in the field of derivative transactions and regularly advises clients on a wide range of derivative products, including interest rate and commodity swaps, caps, options and other hedging arrangements.
Ms. Brennig has a proven track record of working with business executives and their teams to complete complex transactional matters under intense deadlines. She is known for being highly responsive and accessible, communicating with clients in a positive, direct and concise manner. She works to maximize efficiencies on any given project, and is able to call on a network of Andrews Kurth Kenyon professionals to lend their considerable experience. Clients appreciate her deep understanding of their business objectives, which enables her to readily guide them through any legal or business matter in a practical manner to accomplish their objectives on schedule.
She has been with Andrews Kurth Kenyon for nearly 20 years. In 2013, she was appointed firmwide hiring partner. She is currently serving on the firm’s Policy Committee, the firm’s governing body, and currently sits on numerous other firm committees, including the Associates Committee, Business Intake Committee, Diversity Committee, Partners Committee and Women’s Initiative Team. She received her J.D., cum laude, in 1992 from South Texas College of Law and her B.B.A., magna cum laude, from Lamar University in 1990.
