Three lawyers from the Lanier Law Firm have earned selection to the 2017 New York Super Lawyers list and five have been named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list based on their work representing plaintiffs in product liability and class-action litigation.
Firm attorneys Catherine Heacox and David Kuttles are named to the New York Super Lawyers list for their representation of plaintiffs in product liability litigation. Evan Janush, managing attorney of the firm's New York office, is recognized by Super Lawyers for his expertise in class-action litigation. Ms. Heacox and Mr. Janush have earned honors from Super Lawyers annually since 2013; Mr. Kuttles has been recognized since 2016.
The New York Rising Stars list includes five Lanier Law Firm lawyers – Darron Berquist, personal injury – products; Joseph Cotilletta, personal injury – products: plaintiff; Zarah Levin-Fragasso, personal injury – products: plaintiff; Ian Millican, class action; and Melissa Nafash, personal injury – products: plaintiff.
Super Lawyers is owned by global information and news service Thomson Reuters and uses a patented selection process for its annual guide to top lawyers. Attorneys must be nominated by their peers. A research team then reviews their professional achievements and other details, with a blue-ribbon panel making the final selection. No more than 5 percent of attorneys in a state are recognized. The Rising Stars list is compiled using the same criteria and is designed to recognize outstanding lawyers under age 40 or those who have been in practice less than 10 years.
The complete list of New York lawyers selected for 2017 will be published in the New York Metro edition of Super Lawyers magazine and in The New York Times in October.
