Today, the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) announced the appointment of Amy Dashiell to its Board. Dashiell will be working with Board Members in overseeing the organization’s finances, enhancing the value of Board Certification and increasing public awareness of TBLS.
“Amy has been Board Certified for more than a decade and has a diverse legal background handling local, state and national cases across energy, commercial and employment litigation. We’re excited to add her experience to our Board,” said Leo Figueroa, Executive Director of TBLS.
Dashiell has been Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law since 2003 and has previously served as an Exam Commission Member for TBLS. She’s represented and advised clients in all areas of employment law, including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, compliance issues, employment and severance agreements, and covenants not to compete.
“I am honored to serve on the board of an organization that has a tremendous impact on our state’s legal industry and public,” said Dashiell. “I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to continue to promote Board Certification statewide and support TBLS’ member attorneys.”
Dashiell obtained her BBA and law degree, both with honors, from The University of Texas at Austin in 1994 and 1997, respectively.
Established by the Supreme Court of Texas, TBLS certifies attorneys in 22 specific areas of law. The Board Certification program is administered by a 12-member board appointed by the President of the State Bar of Texas. All members are appointed to three year staggered terms of office, and are eligible for reappointment for one additional term.
