McCarthy making headway on Texas Children’s Pediatrics Cullen and Residents’ Primary Care Group Clinic
McCarthy Building Companies’ Specialized Solutions Group has begun construction for a new state-of-the-art facility for Texas Children’s Hospital that will house the new Pediatric and RPCG Clinic for Texas Children’s, offering world-class pediatric and primary care to children and families. Construction of the Pediatric Cullen and Residents’ Primary Care Group (RPCG) Clinic began on May 10.
The scope of work includes a nonstructural demolition of existing interior space and build back of a new 20,000-square-foot facility. When completed in Nov. 2016, the building will include a new waiting area, exam rooms, nurses’ stations, several administrative offices, staff lounge, storage, nurses’ lounge, future radiology and ultrasound space, and work room.
Led by McCarthy Senior Project Manager, Preston Hodges and Project Superintendent, Mike Kacal, the Houston-based Specialized Solutions Group concentrates on unique healthcare, laboratory, and higher education interior renovation projects.The group targets higher education and healthcare clients within a 3- to 5-mile radius of the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world.

This will be McCarthy’s second clinic project for Texas Children’s in Houston, following the Texas Children’s Health Plan Center for Children and Women Southwest completed in September 2014. In addition to Texas Children’s, other Specialized Solutions Group projects include work for Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Methodist Hospital and CHI/St. Luke’s .
