AUSTIN, Texas, June 9, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Thursday, June 2, the United Way of Delaware and the United Way of the National Capitol Area raised over $1.6 million for nonprofits in community-wide giving events under Do More 24, an annual 24-hour online crowdfunding event run on the Kimbia platform.
Do More 24 is a locally-driven movement aimed at bringing together nonprofit organizations, companies, and people committed to making a difference for their community.
"Do More 24 unites nonprofit organizations, partners and donors who are committed to creating impact in the National Capital community," said Kelly Brinkley, COO of United Way of the National Capital Area. "This was our third year partnering with Kimbia to provide the online fundraising platform and we are pleased with how smooth the event was for our donors; we hope to continue growing it in the years to come."
With the United Way of Delaware joining Do More 24 this year as a new participant, organizers of the event hope to continue expanding it into other communities to become much larger and include other United Way's as well.
