Lauren Acton has joined TechFW as Marketing Director, responsible for leading all branding, marketing and communication initiatives and strategies for TechFW, and representing the brand and mission in the community.

Acton was most recently the creative manager for Centerbase, a software company in Dallas. While there, she  developed and implemented successful search optimization and branding/marketing strategies. Before that, she was with Grit Media, a creative agency in Charlotte, N.C.

“Lauren is an ideal fit for the job, the team and the community,” said Hayden Blackburn, Executive Director of TechFW. “She brings the skills and experience we need to continue to support entrepreneurs and collaborate with other support organizations and university partners to build the Fort Worth innovation ecosystem.”

Blackburn said Acton embodied TechFW’s core values of give before you get; continuous improvement; forward thinking; and transparency. “She will be involved in planting seeds that will grow for years and years.”

Acton, who is from Fort Lauderdale, Fl., earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communication, and a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida.

“TechFW’s capacity for impact is incalculable,” she said. “I’m honored that I get to play a role in using my gift of creativity to tell the stories of these entrepreneurs who not only dared to dream but dared to do something about their dreams.

“It will be a privilege to bring recognition to the entrepreneurs and TechFW, help the innovators put a face to their tech and inspire individuals to take the leap and get involved.”

Acton has previously volunteered with Habitat for Humanity International and Created Gainesville. She is currently involved with Fellowship Dallas.
