Highland Springs announced the appointment of Varun Kakar as Director of Dining Services.

Mr. Kakar brings ten years of experience with Erickson Living, the developer and manager of Highland Springs. He spent seven years at Fox Run, a sister community in Novi, Michigan, where he began his dining career on the wait staff before earning a promotion to Assistant General Manager. He then worked for two years at Maris Grove, an Erickson Living community in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, as General Manager.

Most recently, Mr. Kakar served as a Traveling General Manager for the Erickson Living Dining Department, assisting in training and development at the community level.

“We extend a warm welcome to Varun as he moves to Texas to share his culinary creativity and focus on customer service with residents and employees,” stated Matt Neville, Executive Director of the senior living community located in North Dallas. “Our signature dining initiative places an emphasis on cooked-to-order menus, prepared to taste with fresh ingredients. This creates a true restaurant experience which Varun has greatly enhanced during his career at Erickson Living.”

With a variety of healthy menu options, Highland Springs features four different dining venues, ranging from casual to formal. The Dining Services Department also includes the catering event team, a carry-out delivery service for residents and a marketplace & bistro that provides a convenient, on-site shopping locale.

A new resident of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Kakar holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
