Baker Donelson's Daniel Sternthal has been appointed to a two-year term as chair of the Post-Acute and Services Practice Group for the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).

Mr. Sternthal is a shareholder in the Firm's Health Law Group and represents clients doing business within the health care industry, as well as providers across the continuum of health care, including individual group medial practices, hospitals, long term care facilities and ancillary service providers. His practice is concentrated on advising clients on issues relating to regulatory, operational and corporate matters. Mr. Sternthal has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Texas by Chambers USA in the area of Healthcare since 2017 and is a member of Health Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston and American Bar Associations. He is board certified in health law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and currently serves on LeadingAge's Legal Committee.

As chair of the AHLA's Post-Acute and Long Term Services Practice Group, Mr. Sternthal will oversee the group comprised of more than 600 attorneys who represent providers across the entire spectrum of long term care services including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, senior housing, home health, hospice and long term care pharmacy. The mission of the group is to keep members informed of current case law, legislative initiatives and important industry trends, including regulatory policy and operational and transactional issues, through educational offerings and various communication channels. Mr. Sternthal previously served as the group's vice chair of educational programs.
