Firm’s Houston office continues to grow with addition of project architect

Shepley Bulfinch, a national architecture firm known for design excellence and innovation with offices in Boston, Houston and Phoenix, announced today that Laurey Lucree AIA, LEED AP ID+C has joined the firm as project architect. In this role, Laurey’s primary responsibilities include developing design concepts, leading the internal production of architectural drawings, mentoring the internal team, and working closely with the firm’s clients.

The new school transforms a pocket of older commercial buildings on Houston’s North Post Oak Boulevard into a bright, vibrant new facility, teeming with life and learning. Laurey’s strong design sense, proven technical ability and exceptional communication skills will be a true asset to the firm and its clients moving forward.”

With more than 16 years of design strategy, construction and management experience, including leading project concept implementation and documentation development for a variety of projects around the world, Laurey brings a unique skill set to the firm. Prior to joining Shepley Bulfinch, Laurey held positions with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates in London, and Gensler and Ziegler Cooper in Houston. Her experience includes work on multiple corporate interior projects in Texas ranging in size from 10,000 SF to more than 200,000 SF, as well as such diverse projects as the design concept for the multi-acre urban master plan in Paris, France, and the interior entry reception, elevator lobby and atrium mezzanine level concepts for an office building in Prague, Czechoslovakia.

Laurey has served as a board member of Rebuilding Together Houston where she also led a team that was recognized with the ‘Golden Hammer New Crew Award’ for exceptional completion of volunteer home repairs. In addition to her varied professional experience, Laurey is passionate about volunteering for the Friends for Life Animal Shelter and Sanctuary in Houston and the Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville.

Laurey holds a bachelor of architecture from the Virginia Tech, College of Architecture and Urban Design and a master of business administration (MBA) from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business, where she also completed graduate courses in real estate.
